Children’s Martial Arts

We don’t just teach martial arts we teach a way of life!

Children are catered for in three separate martial arts: Zen Do Kai Little Tigers & Young Dragons Kids Karate, Kids Muay Thai (coming soon) and Kids BJJ (coming soon). All classes consist of functional fitness, fundamentals of martial arts and self defence.

The programs will keep them physically fit and help with the benefits of good behaviour, teamwork, good manners, patience and doing their best. The programs covers valuable lessons on bullying and stranger danger.

So much more than just kicking and punching, our aim is to develop the habits of winners early. Children learn that consistent attendance creates perseverance and the ability to overcome difficulties.

Developing an “I CAN” attitude and having that constantly reinforced in class, opens the door to the gift of self esteem, confidence and self respect that will stay with your child for life.

Zen Do Kai Kids Karate is an innovative program which was designed specifically for primary school aged children between 5-13 years. Your children will not only learn to defend themselves but more importantly they will build self-confidence, self-discipline and the positive attitude necessary to become a successful young adult.

By enrolling your child in the kids’ program, you will also increase the child’s concentration, coordination and fitness level. These skills are invaluable in helping your child reach other goals in daily life. Your child will learn from highly trained instructors in complete safety.

Adult’s Programs

Our Adult classes include: Zen Do Kai Karate, BJC Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA (coming soon) & Krav Maga (coming soon).

The programs all consist of functional fitness, skills development, life skills and much more.

Zen Do Kai

Zen Do Kai Freestyle Martial Arts is Australia’s own martial art which combines the best techniques from styles including traditional Karate, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Aikido and traditional Japanese weaponry.

Our focus is on modern, practical applications which may include one-on-one self defence, defence against multiple attackers, restraint and removal, ground fighting and defence against a weapon.

Our program also includes traditional martial arts philosophies such as ‘Senjo’ which encompasses respect, self control, etiquette, courage, justice, honour, loyalty, truth and benevolence.

Our Zen Do Kai program benefits both your body and mind to make you the complete martial artist!

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was derived from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan judo in the early 20th century. It was further developed by Carlos Gracie and revolutionised by Helio Gracie. BJJ has been popularised by the UFC and YouTube.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and a self-defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.

It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique—most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person.

BJC Muay Thai™

BJC Muay Thai™ is one of the fastest and easiest sports to learn in the world. The skills’ training has been refined emphasizing the system’s unique footwork and explosive power.

Body conditioning is a major necessity for the potential competitor and the addition of the Gladiator plyometrics routine has become both a training drill and tested requirement.

Our Muay Thai classes feature safe and modern training principles with a coloured singlet grading system to measure your progress. Advanced fighters may be selected to represent our BJC Muay Thai fight club and compete against other gyms.
